WHAT HAPPENED?
On November 1, 2023, CVC discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, CVC determined that the “LockBit 3.0” hacker group may have accessed this sensitive information during a ransomware attack on November 1, 2023. In December 2023, CVC began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license and/or state-issued ID number
- Passport and/or military ID number
- Tax identification number
- Medical information (e.g., medical identification number)
- Health insurance information (e.g., health insurance identification number)
