WHAT HAPPENED?

On September 27, 2023, a vendor of Blue Ridge Energy, Meridian, discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its independent monitoring of the data breach investigation, Blue Ridge Energy determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information and posed it on the dark web on October 12, 2023. On November 6, 2023, Blue Ridge Energy began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Bank account number
