Supporting over 600 sites across the United States, Latin America, and Asia, SBM’s client base is comprised of a multitude of Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, and Nike. Headquartered in McClellan, California, SBM has 10 locations in the United States, Costa Rica, and Singapore, and employs 12,000 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On or around June 28, 2023, SBM discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, SBM determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between April 24, 2023, and June 28, 2023. On October 27, 2023, SBM began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information has not been made publicly available by SBMHowever, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial information
  • Medical information 
  • Taxpayer information
  • Personal identification number issued by the United States IRS
