Okta Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On October 12, 2023, Okta discovered that one of its third-party vendors, Rightway Healthcare, Inc., had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to Okta employees may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Rightway Healthcare determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on September 23, 2023. On November 2, 2023, Okta began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Health insurance information
