Wabash College Data Breach Investigation

ABOUT WABASH COLLEGE:

On May 3, 2023, Wabash College discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Wabash College determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between April 13, 2023, and May 3, 2023. Recently, Wabash College began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Fiskars Group discovered that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorized third party gained access to portions of its information environment. On May 15, 2024, Fiskars Group posted a notice of the breach on its website saying, “Fiskars Group has been subject to a cyber security incident which has impacted a small number of the company’s systems in the U.S. The company’s operations have not been affected, and its business continues to operate as usual. As soon as Fiskars Group became aware of the incident, it took immediate containment steps and successfully managed to stop the incident in its tracks. The investigation into the incident and impact on data is ongoing. Fiskars Group has notified law enforcement of the incident and will continue to assist with their investigations. Should any further notifications become necessary, Fiskars Group will do so in a timely manner.”1 As of May 15, 2024, Fiskars Group has not disclosed the specific nature of the cybersecurity incident or confirmed whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
