WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 6, 2023, Batesville Tool & Die discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Batesville Tool & Die determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack. On September 25, 2023, Batesville Tool & Die began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number, routing number, payment card information, and tax identification number)
  • Biometric information
  • Usernames and passwords
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information (e.g., medical diagnosis and treatment)
