CareRev is a software company and technology platform that offers healthcare facilities and professionals a forum to connect. Specifically, CareRev focuses on solving healthcare staffing solutions by connecting healthcare facilities with qualified healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and ER techs, to fill open shifts. Additionally, CareRev offers the healthcare professionals in its network training as well as access to professional resources, such as health insurance, tax services, meal and grocery delivery, and child careFounded in 2015 by Will Patterson, a registered nurse, CareRev’s network includes over 22,000 healthcare professionals and serves more than 32 major metropolitan areas across the United States. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, CareRev employs over 300 people.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On August 15, 2023, CareRev discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, CareRev determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between August 12 and 16, 2023. On September 14, 2023, CareRev began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
