Far Niente is a winery located in Napa Valley in Oakville, California. Sixty years later, in 1979, Far Niente was purchased by Gil and Beth Nickel and, in 1982, winemaking began again. Sitting on top of 13 acres of land, Far Niente boasts 40,000 square feet of wine caves and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On April 24, 2023, Far Niente discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Far Niente concluded that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through their network sometime before April 24, 2023. On September 11, 2023, Far Niente began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
