WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 1, 2023, Cadence Bank discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Cadence Bank determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file sharing platform used by Cadence Bank between May 28 and May 31, 2023. On September 15, 2023, Cadence Bank began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial information (e.g., credit card number, bank account number, account statements)
  • Address
