After emerging from bankruptcy, Forever 21’s new ownership group relaunched its online store in 30 countries and forged new partnerships and collaborations with JCPenny, Hervé Léger, Sports Illustrated, and Barbie. With over 540 locations globally, Forever 21 employs over 30,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 20, 2023, Forever 21 experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Forever 21 determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between January 5 and March 21, 2023. On August 29, 2023, Forever 21 began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Bank account number
- Health insurance information
