Jackson National Life Insurance Company Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On or around May 31, 2023, Jackson discovered that Pension Benefit Information (“PBI”), a third-party vender used by Jackson, experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to Jackson clients may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Jackson determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software between May 29 and May 30, 2023. Recently, PBI began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Policy number
