EBS Services Data Breach Investigation
Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating EBS Services, LLC regarding its recent data breach. The EBS Services data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 6,900 individuals.
ABOUT EBS SERVICES, LLC:
EBS Services is a marketing and consulting firm specializing in both bank- and corporate-owned life insurance services. Accordingly, EBS Services finances, implements, and administers insurance programs through a variety of tools, including census data analysis, product selection, credit reviews, and more. Founded in 1998, EBS Services has executed more than 300 bank- and corporate-owned life insurance agreements, and is the designated supplier for various financial institutions, such as the Alabama Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Association of Ohio. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, EBS Services partners with leading mutual insurance agencies, including Northwestern Mutual and Guardian, to conduct business throughout 39 U.S. states.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 2, 2023, EBS Services discovered that Pension Benefit Information, LLC, a third-party vender used by EBS Services, experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information of EBS Services customers may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Pension Benefit Information determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed the sensitive information belonging to EBS Services users through a cyber-attack on the MOVEit file transfer software used by Pension Benefit Information between May 29 and May 30, 2023. On August 18, 2023, Pension Benefit Information will begin contacting EBS Services customers whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

- Social Security number
