WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 1, 2023, Genesis Energy discovered that a third-party vendor used by Genesis Energy had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Genesis Energy determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information through a cyber-attack on the MOVEit file transfer software. On June 30, 2023, Genesis Energy began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Social Security number
