Talcott Resolution Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 4, 2023, Talcott Resolution discovered that PBI Research Services, a third-party vender used by Talcott Resolution, experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information of Talcott Resolution customers may have been accessed and obtained. Through its investigation, Talcott Resolution determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a cyber-attack on the MOVEit file transfer software used by PBI Research Services on or around May 29, 2023. On June 8, 2023, Talcott Resolution began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Policy number
