Leidos Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Leidos, Inc. regarding its recent data breach. Leidos conducts business with a third-party software vendor, Diligent Corporation, that recently experienced a data breach exposing sensitive information belonging to Leidos. Robert Beyster, today, Leidos has grown into a global Fortune 500 company employing 45,000 individuals. Leidos is headquartered in Reston, Virginia and has annual revenue of $14.4 billion.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On November 11, 2022, Leidos’ software vendor, Diligent Corporation, notified Leidos that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems belonging to Leidos may have been accessed and obtained. Through their investigation, Leidos and Diligent Corporation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed and acquired this sensitive information as early as September 30, 2022. On February 9, 2023, Diligent Corporation notified Leidos of a second, separate data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to Leidos may have been accessed. Diligent Corporation determined that Leidos’ sensitive information may have been accessed in this second data breach as early as October 1, 2022. On June 9, 2023, Leidos and Diligent Corporation began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Social Security number
