WHAT HAPPENED?

On May 1, 2023, Mission Community Hospital discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. While much information surrounding the data breach remains unknown, on May 31, 2023, a ransomware group posted several files online as proof of the attack, including files from Mission Community Hospital’s imaging system, employee-related files, and financial reports and files. At present, Mission Community Hospital has not publicly confirmed that they were the victim of a cyberattack.
