Founded in 1981, PCCA provides compounding pharmacies with tools to cater to specific patient needs, such as special flavorings, unique dosage forms, and innovative delivery methods. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, PCCA works with nearly 4,000 pharmacists in the United States, Canada, Australia, and other countries across the globe.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 8, 2023, PCCA discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, PCCA determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information. On April 18, 2023, PCCA began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of information has not been disclosed by PCCA. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial information
- Medical information
- Taxpayer information
- Personal identification number issued by the United States IRS
