WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 15, 2023, Harding, Shymanski & Company discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Harding, Shymanski & Company determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information and client’s tax return information through a compromised client account. On April 11, 2023, Harding, Shymanski & Company began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Date of birth
  • Bank account information (e.g., bank account number, routing number)
  • Investment or brokerage account information
