WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Fortra, LLC, a vendor that provides file transfer software for Community Health Systems, discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Community Health Systems and Fortra determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information. Although much information remains unknown, Community Health Systems reported notice of its data breach to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on February 13, 2023.
