WHAT HAPPENED?

On January 10, 2023, Pepsi Bottling Ventures discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Pepsi Bottling Ventures determined that an unauthorized actor accessed and obtained this sensitive information by launching a malware attack on or around December 23, 2022. On February 10, 2023, Pepsi Bottling Ventures began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number, PIN code, or password)
  • Health insurance and claims information
  • Medical information
  • Contact information (e.g., email address)
