All of Pitman Farms’ animals are reared on vegetarian diets classified as non-GMO, organic, and absent sugars, preservatives, and food additives. Headquartered in Sanger, California, Pitman Farms provides its products to grocery stores and supermarkets across the United States.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Pitman Farms discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Pitman Farms determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack between October 15 and October 16, 2022. On November 8, 2022, Pitman Farms began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Financial information (e.g., bank account number)
