WHAT HAPPENED?
On September 9, 2022, Sigmund Software experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Sigmund Software concluded that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack. It was later reported that the sensitive information obtained by the unauthorized actor may have been published on the dark web. On October 20, 2022, Sigmund Software began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted includes:
