Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, Buffalo MRI employs two radiologists and more than ten staff members.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On December 24, 2021, Buffalo MRI discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Buffalo MRI determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between December 17 and December 24, 2021. On October 7, 2022, Buffalo MRI began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information (e.g., record number, account number, physician name, dates of service, information related to radiology services)
