WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 28, 2022, Williams Adams & Company discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its system may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Williams Adams & Company concluded that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack. On August 5, 2022, Williams Adams & Company determined it would have to pay a ransom sum to restore this encrypted sensitive information. On September 8, 2022, Williams Adams & Company began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Employment records
  • Bank account information (e.g., account number or routing information)
  • W-2 tax information
  • 1099 tax information
