WHAT HAPPENED?
On October 26, 2021, Fonville Morisey discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Fonville Morisey disclosed that the data breach was a ransomware attack that impacted its email environment. Through its investigation, Fonville Morisey determined that an unauthorized actor may have gained access to this sensitive information between October 22 to October 28, 2021. In December 2021, Fonville Morisey began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. Recently, on August 31, 2022, Fonville Morisey sent out additional breach notification letters indicating that more individuals likely needed notification that their personal identifiable information may have been impacted.
