Clinivate is an electronic health records vendor that offers software solutions to behavioral health agencies and schools. Founded in 2004, Clinivate offers its behavioral health agency, provider, and clinician clients a web-based computer application that assists with regulatory compliance, data management, and productivity monitoring. Specifically, Clinivate’s application offers solutions for managing treatment planning, billing, productivity, schedule, and outcome tracking procedures. Headquartered in Pasadena, California, Clinivate has over 39 employees.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 23, 2022, Clinivate discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its system may have been accessed. While much information is still not known, Clinivate disclosed that its system, which included the sensitive information of minors, was accessed between March 12 and 21, 2022. On July 22, 2022, Clinivate began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The types of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Medical record number
- Health plan beneficiary number
- Treatment and diagnosis information
- Other medical information
- Payment information for the provision of health care
