WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 6, 2022, North Highland discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its system may have been accessed and acquired. North Highland disclosed that the data breach was a ransomware attack that impacted files containing personal information of current and some former employees. Through an investigation, North Highland determined that the attackers gained access to its system around May 26, 2022. On July 8, 2022, North Highland began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • National insurance number
  • Identity numbers
  • Tax numbers
  • Addresses
  • Bank account numbers and other payroll information
  • Date of birth
  • Benefits information
  • Background check and employment screening information
  • Health-related information provided with leave or accommodation requests
