Avamere Data Breach Investigation

Avamere is a group of independent, privately owned companies, known as the Avamere Family of Companies, that offer senior living and skilled nursing options as well as rehabilitation services to seniors. Founded in 1995 as a skilled nursing community, Avamere has grown to operate facilities in 20 states. Avamere is headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon, and has 300 facilities in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. Avamere employs approximately 8,100 people and has served over 86,500 people.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Avamere Health Services experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information of Avamere employees may have been accessed and acquired. While much information is still unknown about the breach, Amavere determined that its network was accessed at various times between January 19, 2022, and March 17, 2022. In mid-June 2022, Avamere began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
