The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor had accessed the Ferrara network and removed certain files from the network some between October 2, 2021, and October 9, 2021. As a result, Ferrara Candy Company reviewed the impacted files and determined that they contained sensitive personal information. The impacted files contained the following types of information:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Birth certificates
  • Passport numbers or other government issued identification numbers
  • Financial account information
  • Digital / electric signatures
  • Medical information
  • Mother’s maiden name
